The Space Weather Group is located within NOAA Boulder Colorado and is composed of University of Colorado employees in collaboration with NOAA Federal Scientists. The group is responsible for instrument scientist work such as calibration and validation efforts for all space weather instruments on the NOAA Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES)-R, or GOES-R weather satellite mission series. In addition, we undertake instrument scientist on the DSCOVR satellite and Data Management for both DSCOVR and GOES-R space weather instruments. Our members are also engaged in other projects and collaborations including validation/calibration and data management for space weather instruments on DMSP, POES-SEM and GOES-NOP. We also undertake scientific research in space weather, space plasma physics and solar physics.
